The e-Visa is processed and issued online on a single Web page where applicants apply, pay and secure their entry visa online.

Once the online application is approved, applicants will receive an email authorizing them to travel to Ethiopia and they will get their passport stamped with the visa upon arrival in Addis Ababa.
​
The process will save time, energy and cost for travellers to Ethiopia in addition to the simplicity and convenience that it facilitates.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ETHIOPIAN E-VISA
Please refer the following requirements for Ethiopian e-Visa.

e-Visa application fees are not refundable.

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you intend to enter Ethiopia.

Currently, we allow travellers with e-Visa to enter Ethiopia via Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. Entry via other ports of entry is not allowed.

The validity of Ethiopian e-Visa starts from the date you intend to enter Ethiopia, not from the date of issue.

Travelers who are nationals of or have a permanent residence permit in one of the eligible countries can apply for e-Visa.

Are you eligible for an e-Visa?
Citizens of all countries who have permanent residence permit and/or nationality in one of the countries listed as eligible in our website www.evisa.gov.et are eligible for an Ethiopian e-VISA.

Requirements​

Travelers who apply for tourist visa must have travel document/passport/residence permit valid for at least six months from the planned date of entry.

Applicants who claim that they have permanent residence permit in one of the eligible countries must upload valid residence permit document

Processing Time
Under normal circumstances, the processing time for tourist visa is 30 days. So, travelers should submit their application at least 30 days before their estimated date of arrival

Duration and Validity
Single entry tourist visa is valid for 30 or 90 days (depending on the applicant’s preference) from the intended date of arrival in Ethiopia. If flight date of the travelers is changed unexpectedly, travelers should contact the e-Visa Support Team at Support@evisa.gov.et to adjust validity period of their visa. It is not allowed to stay in Ethiopia beyond the validity period of the visa. Travelers can request for extension before the visa expires by going in person to the Head Office of The Main Department for Immigration and Nationality Affairs (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia).

Fees​

For single entry visa with validity up to 30 days, the fee is USD 52.

For single entry visa with validity up to 90 days, the fee is USD 72.
Applicants must complete the payment online.
Note: Travelers who can’t complete visa applications online for some reason can still apply for visa on arrival provided that they are eligible. The eligibility for e-Visa applies the same for Visa-On-Arrival.
